Free Claude plugin

VCE Exam Solutions

A small plugin that turns a practice exam into the study materials a kid will actually open.

Worked solutions, a topic primer, and a targeted drill test on the questions a student dropped marks on — from one upload. Built by a parent for parents.

Three commands. Each one makes something different from the same exam.

Upload a practice exam, pick a command. Run more than one on the same file if you want.

/solve-exam
Worked solutions guide
Step-by-step answers for every question, concept explanations, common mistakes, and five fresh practice questions per topic. Opens in a browser like an interactive textbook.
Self-contained .html (2–20 MB)
/generate-primer
Theory primer
Drop in any mix of notes, handouts, textbook chapters, or past exams. Claude reads them and writes a concise theory summary covering every key concept — with explanations, formulas, and diagrams.
Self-contained .html (5–10 MB)
/generate-diagnostic
Targeted drill test
Upload a marked exam (or just list which questions you dropped marks on). Claude reads your weak spots and builds a short targeted practice test — new questions, same concepts, with Hint and Show Answer buttons built in.
Self-contained .html · no API key needed

Or browse individual outputs.

Every file below came from a real practice exam. Open any of them to see how they work — they all run in a browser, no account or server needed.

A few things to set up first.

The plugin runs inside Claude Desktop's Cowork mode. Here's the shortlist.

Claude Desktop (Pro or Team)
Claude Desktop with Cowork mode enabled. Requires a Claude Pro (~$30/mo) or Team subscription — no free tier can run this.
OpenRouter account (free)
Used by /solve-exam and /generate-primer for AI diagram generation. Free sign-up at openrouter.ai — the free credits cover dozens of exams. /generate-diagnostic needs no key at all.
Practice exam files
Your VCE practice exams as .docx or .pdf. Works with any SAC, practice exam, or past paper.
Modern web browser
Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge to open the generated HTML study guides. That's it.

About five minutes, start to finish.

  1. Install the plugin
Download vce-exam-solutions-lite.zip and drag it into a Cowork session (or use Settings → Plugins → Install from file). Claude confirms the install.
  2. Paste your OpenRouter key when asked
The first time you run /solve-exam or /generate-primer, Claude asks for an OpenRouter key. Paste it once and Claude saves it. Type skip to use the plugin without AI-generated diagrams.
  3. Select a working folder
When Cowork asks you to select a folder, choose where you want the output HTML files saved. That's the folder your finished study guides will land in.
  4. You're ready
Upload a practice exam and type /solve-exam to generate your first guide. Typical runs take 3–8 minutes.
# 1. Install — drag the zip into Cowork vce-exam-solutions-lite.zip # 2. Upload an exam, pick a command, done.

  1. Upload your practice exam
Drag a .docx or .pdf practice exam into the Cowork session. Works for Maths Methods, Chemistry, Biology, and a growing list of other subjects.
  2. Pick a command
Type /solve-exam for a worked solutions guide, /generate-primer for a theory primer built from your notes and handouts, or /generate-diagnostic for a targeted drill test built from a marked exam.
  3. Let it run
Claude reads the exam, works through the questions, generates any diagrams, and puts together the final file. A typical solve-exam run takes 3–8 minutes; a diagnostic drill finishes in under two.
  4. Open and study
HTML files open in any browser, with dark mode and a clean print layout. Press Ctrl+P / Cmd+P if you want a paper copy for the study folder.
  1. Run more than one on the same exam
Build a primer first, sit the practice exam, run /solve-exam to understand every mistake, then after the teacher marks it run /generate-diagnostic to drill the weak spots. Three commands, one study loop.
  2. Use the diagnostic on the questions that hurt
Upload a marked exam or just type which questions you lost marks on (e.g. "Q4a: lost 2/3, Q7: lost all 4"). The drill test targets exactly those concepts with Hint and Show Answer built in.
  3. Easy to share
The HTML files are self-contained — no server, no internet needed. Email them, drop them on Google Drive, put them on a class website.
